Our client in Auburn Hills, MI is looking for an Interior Component Engineer. This is a contract position.

What You Will Do:

  • Execute Component, System and  Vehicle level test(s). Test rig buy off, monitoring, results analysis.
  • Technical issue resolution with support of the DR (e.g., GIMs, Fast Feedback, SAQ issues, etc.).
  • Component and Drawing release coordination for specific model requirements.
  • Pull part numbers, create BOM, and maintain EBOM and CODEP with eBOM specialist.
  • Responsible for compliance reports.
  • Responsible for all model geometry, on the tree, correct change level, properly positioned for all designs.
  • DMA reviews (C&I/Integration/packaging).
  • Develop and release torque specifications with fasteners engineer.
  • Initiate & Process CCD and IAA – see process under development.
  • View/approve Service Manual + Owners Manual.
  • Lead program specific Quality (Field Quality, Warranty, CQI, JDP) Issue Resolution.
  • Development of concept sheets & BOM to support SCE cost loops.
  • Complete Component and Subsystem Designs.
  • Lead Component and Subsystem CAE.
  • Ensure all Design Practices met.
  • Manage Supplier Component Issues and Maintain Open Issues List.
  • Lead CAD Review of Components/Subsystems.
  • Develop and Execute Program Specific  DFMEA, DVP&R, functional objectives, performance requirements meet targets.
  • Develop and release engineering notes and Pip Pages.
  • Work with AME in design phase for assembly and AMPS.
  • Review Design Acceptance Checklist with design integrity group.
  • Lead CAD releases per CAD step release schedule.
  • PER/Plant Mfg. Support.
  • Represents Engineering for problem solving at assembly plant(s).
  • Submit compliance & certification reports assigned by the safety group.
  • Support SQA in Leading Supplier through APQP Deliverables.
  • Source package creation (needs defined process with R&R).
  • Ensure scroll reviews are supported by proper engineering representative.
  • Puts together Technical info to cost collaborate with SCIE.

Basics:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME), Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an ABET accredited university is required.
  • 3-5 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Highly motivated individual with excellent communication and organizational skills. Excellent relationship building skills with the ability to work in a cross functional team environment.
  • Knowledge of DFMEA, DVP&R, FEA and Mold Flow Virtual Validation. Excellent MS Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook). -Knowledge of CAD Systems (CATIA, UGNX) -Hard Trim or plastic experience preferred.
  • Traveling the state of Michigan will be required. This will be a max of 20%.
