Key tasks
Establish internal operating and financial models for the movement of all incoming goods, tooling and outbound finished goods
Work alongside the Procurement team to identify and select strategic logistical partners, capable of supporting rapid organisational growth and development across a global network
Introduce organisational knowledge of legislative and international laws and regulations for the movement of goods.
Build positive operational network with clients, suppliers and relevant agency representatives.
Management of shipments ensuring conformity of requirements across multiple continents.
Work alongside the Operations and Sales team to plan for current and future movement of goods
Develop an optimised commercial model for the Import/export needs and provide regular KPIs and supplier performance data.
Evaluate optimised freight shipment solutions with internal stakeholders.
Qualifications and training
Degree or Certified professional relevant to Import/Export & Foreign trade
Demonstrable management, financial management, leadership, people development
Skills and experience
Ability to create an import/export function from ground-up & demonstrable experience within a global trading environment.
Strong interpersonal skills with both internal and external stakeholder.
A comprehensive understanding of relevant insurance, tax and duty considerations for the movement of goods and materials
History of building internal and external relationships and interaction with management at all levels.
Ability to adapt in a rapidly growing, high tech, innovative organisation.
Objective, analytical and a clear and persuasive communicator with a positive and enthusiastic outlook.
