Key tasks
- Establish internal operating and financial models for the movement of all incoming goods, tooling and outbound finished goods
- Work alongside the Procurement team to identify and select strategic logistical partners, capable of supporting rapid organisational growth and development across a global network
- Introduce organisational knowledge of legislative and international laws and regulations for the movement of goods.
- Build positive operational network with clients, suppliers and relevant agency representatives.
- Management of shipments ensuring conformity of requirements across multiple continents.
- Work alongside the Operations and Sales team to plan for current and future movement of goods
- Develop an optimised commercial model for the Import/export needs and provide regular KPIs and supplier performance data.
- Evaluate optimised freight shipment solutions with internal stakeholders.
Qualifications and training
- Degree or Certified professional relevant to Import/Export & Foreign trade
- Demonstrable management, financial management, leadership, people development
Skills and experience
- Ability to create an import/export function from ground-up & demonstrable experience within a global trading environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with both internal and external stakeholder.
- A comprehensive understanding of relevant insurance, tax and duty considerations for the movement of goods and materials
- History of building internal and external relationships and interaction with management at all levels.
- Ability to adapt in a rapidly growing, high tech, innovative organisation.
- Objective, analytical and a clear and persuasive communicator with a positive and enthusiastic outlook.
