Summary of Role:

The GLOBALFOUNDRIES Civil Engineer Intern shall have satisfactorily completed four full semesters at an accredited engineering school by May, 2021.  The intern will work at the Fab 10 East Fishkill, New York Campus under the auspices of a senior architectural/civil engineer developing designs, details, plans, specifications and estimates for new parking lot construction, parking lot upgrades, roof replacement, roofing upgrades, abandoned utility disconnects/removals, wastewater treatment plan upgrades, utility pipeline and trestle restoration, minor structural assessments, and traffic volume studies.

The intern shall also be responsible for developing schedules, work scopes, inspections and reports that will be reviewed and approved by the senior architect/civil engineer.  The intern may also assist other mechanical, chemical, electrical and/or environmental system engineers in physically tracing systems, identifying changes, and updating the respective drawings using AutoCAD. The systems include high and low temperature chilled water, high temperature hot water, deionized water, potable water, compressed air, fire water systems, sanitary wastewater plumbing and miscellaneous utilities.

The intern must be a motivated self-starter, requiring minimal direction and supervision, and works well in a team environment.  Solid communication skills and AutoCAD training is helpful.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

Develop designs, details, plans and specifications for roofing, roads and parking lots
Perform engineering estimates
Develop accurate and complete work scopes
Prepare thorough and complete engineering reports
Perform thorough and complete field inspections to ensure compliance with plans and specifications
Prepare capital project requests with detailed justification and budget estimates
Trace out utility systems and document alterations to record plans
