Summary of Role:

GLOBALFOUNDRIES is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Chemical Engineering Summer Intern to work in a Post Semiconductor Advanced Packaging.  The successful candidate will work with a dynamic process engineering team to create qualification plans and then execute the process/tool qualifications to completion.

Essential Responsibilities:

Chemical Engineering
Understanding of wet processes
Ability to quickly learn tooling attributes and parameters
Ability to understand Engineering Specifications to help create qualification procedures
Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs

The objective of the internship/Co-Op project is to help determine qualification plans for manufacturing processes which will transfer from other locations on aggressive schedules.

The intern/Co-Op will work directly with Process Engineering team on advanced packaging applications in a post fab environment.  This may include existing qualified processes in which cost/productivity improvements need to be qualified as well as new processes and tools which need additional development and qualification.
The intern will have the opportunity to learn about advanced post fab semiconductor manufacturing processes, new and emerging technologies, and analysis of data supporting highly complicated technology decisions.
The assignment includes exposure to leading edge packaging tools, process flows, and yield / process interaction.
Required Qualifications:

BS Student enrolled in an accredited program for Chemical Engineering.
Completion of Junior Year – entering Senior year
Excellent academic standing.
Strong written and oral communications skills.
Attention to detail.
Self-motivated; able to take ownership of assignments, develop work plans and proactively seek feedback to ensure objectives are aligned and met.
Team player; able to succeed in a dynamic, fast paced environment
Semiconductor Process Technology courses / experience
Good mechanical/tooling aptitude
