Co-Op Software Engineer

Summary of Role:

A 3 month intern in C++ software Engineering.  The intern will interface directly with a fulltime GlobalFoundries software engineer to create custom software to automate mmWave testers.   The candidate will write C++ code in a Linux environment.   The program will interface to the test system via an Ethernet connection.    The programmer will learn to use return codes to assist the user in identifying code, hardware or input file errors.     The intern will be a member of a large group of electrical engineers building custom electronics to work with the code to achieve extremely fast semiconductor testers.

Essential Responsibilities:

Convert input requirements into robust Linux C++ code which will generate the desired output.
Develop understandable error codes which guide the user to identify the location of errors in the input or hardware.
Perform all activities in a safe ad responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs
Required Qualifications:

Education –Graduating Senior or Junior in Computer Engineering or Computer Science or other related discipline
Experience programming in C++
Language Fluency –  English
Physical Capacity Demands – ability to use a computer
Available for work in Burlington, Vermont
Must be physically located in Burlington and work on site every work day

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of creating data structures in C++, reading and writing to files,
Ability to work with engineers to convert concepts into specifications and C++ code
Experience debugging and doing code regression testing
Writing games, apps or tools for fun or personal use.
