SUMMARY

The Global Privacy Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight, management, and execution of privacy and governance initiatives, and have an integral role in continuing to develop the privacy/governance program, in partnership with the Global Privacy Officer (GPO) and team. The ideal candidate is comfortable working collaboratively within cross-functional and global teams; completing projects with limited resources; developing and fostering strong cross-functional relationships; continuously learning in areas such as privacy, governance, technology and records management; and navigating various assignments, goals and teams, while driving timely and unified results. This role will have a multitude of responsibilities relating to data collection, usage, sharing and retention, but it will immediately focus on international compliance matters (specifically Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs)), California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) compliance (including reviewing and updating processes and controls related to Subject Access Requests (SAR)), cookie and third party vendor compliance, and enterprise-wide data retention.

RESPONSIBILITIES

•Oversees various compliance initiatives in furtherance of global privacy compliance, including compliance with the GDPR, CCPA, PIPA, PIPEDA, Privacy by Design, EU ePrivacy Directive, and other regional privacy laws.
•Understands and utilizes complex privacy and data protection requirements when conducting reviews and assessments (such as DPIAs and SARs), while maintaining necessary enterprise-wide privacy and data related certifications.
•Assists with designing and implementing regulatory compliance and privacy strategies; immediately focusing on reviewing and updating processes and controls related to SARs, DPIAs, data retention, and cookie and third-party vendor compliance.
•Communicates privacy and governance business requirements to key stakeholders, across different business units and provides guidance and partnership for implementation.
•Assists in the development and implementation of standards and controls relating to data usage, governance, retention and sharing, and ensuring that privacy and other forms of compliance are built-in to existing business processes or new processes are created.
•Builds partnerships and works collaboratively with the Legal team, Works Councils, IT, Cyber Security, Office of Digital Transformation, Marketing, and all necessary business units, to ensure alignment between security, privacy and governance practices/policies.
•Liaises with various stakeholders to ensure consistent execution of privacy initiatives and issues remediation; leads review meetings with stakeholders; and escalates issues to GPO as needed.
•Presents proposals, recommendations and updates to the GPO and other stakeholders related to projects, changes in priorities, team organization and strategy.
•Receives various inputs and artifacts from all business units, analyzes, and identifies gaps and/or new compliance opportunities, and understands the business and culture to include such inputs in the development, deployment and sustainability of an effective privacy and governance program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

•Bachelor’s degree.
•Minimum 5-7 years of related experience in cyber security, data governance, privacy, retention or related fields; preferably on a global scale.
•Demonstrates both collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team, while completing tasks and projects autonomously if necessary.
•Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, organizational and presentations skills
•Strong verbal and written communication skills
•Ability to work in a fast-paced, developing, and deadline-oriented environment
•Self-motivated with critical attention to detail and deadlines
