Summary/Objective: The Glass Core Technology (GCT) Development Manager will lead a team of process development engineers to innovate solutions to fabrication of electronic glass interposers. This person will be tasked with the challenge of sustaining and optimizing all processes utilized in GCT (Glass Core Technology).  Knowledge of semiconductor-like wafer-based processes (lithography, CMP, PVD, plating, etc) is required.  This individual should be comfortable in design development, sustaining product design, and cradle to grave lifecycle ownership.

Essential Functions/ Responsibilities:

  • Manage process engineers in optimizing all fab module processes including laser, lithography, deposition (PVD), etch and test.
  • Collaborate directly with operations, Integration and application engineering to identify technology gaps and developments needed to support new and existing business.
  • Create project scopes to outline development plans, goals and expectations.
  • Design and execute DOEs to advance new materials and processes.
  • Implement process DFM and process window evaluations for all process blocks, and leverage SPC monitoring to maintain process health.
  • Use statistical analysis with JMP and Minitab to monitor and develop new processes.
  • Work directly with purchasing, quality, application engineering, operations, suppliers, and other necessary groups as a cross functional team to develop products and solutions.
  • Make significant contributions to design, development, and validation of wafer fabrication solutions.
  • Works hands on to identify problems during new product development and/or when quality concerns arise.
  • Autonomously plans and schedules own daily tasks and develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgment and assist associates reporting to you to do the same.
  • Set performance expectations for associates and provide performance feedback on a continual basis.
  • Manage both technical and non-technical people.
  • Ability to quickly identify issues, develop, and execute a plan.
  • Delegate projects and oversee the progress and engage when required.
  • Establish metrics for the group.

 Required Experience:

  • 7 – 10 Years’ Experience in an Engineering Management role.
  • Must be a self-starter with strong leadership skills.
  • Experience leading and working with technical staff.
  • Experience with some wafer fab processes development or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated problem solving ability.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in relating to both internal and external customers.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience in engineering design software (Solidworks, AutoCAD, etc.).
  • Proficiency in the following: GD&T, DFM, FMEA, and Six Sigma.
  • Willing to travel (including out of the US) for up to 4 weeks per year.

Preferred Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering.
