About the team

The University Program team at Codasip augment university undergraduate and graduate computer engineering curricula by providing assignments and materials related to RISC-V and Codasip’s own SDK/EDA tools to prepare the next generation of processor engineers.

The support for both the students and researchers will be through Codasip’s high-level synthesis language, CodAL, and Codasip Labs’ technologies, to prepare engineers in solving tomorrow’s technological challenges.

Through the development of research partnerships, the program aims to advance solutions in computer security, functional safety, artificial intelligence, advanced system memories and domain specific applications.

The University Program’s three pillars are preparing the next generation of researchers (by funding PhD students), training the next generation of engineers (by creating project based assignments), and developing solutions to solve tomorrow’s technological problems.

About the role

We’re hiring a FPGA Engineer or Senior Instructor with an FPGA background to be responsible for developing project-based assignments in a course curriculum, used by various universities across the world. The first two will focus on an undergraduate course realizing a customized RISC-V processor in an FPGA and a graduate RISC-V system-on-chip (SoC) course.

Reporting to Keith Graham, the Vice President of University and Customer Experience Program, you may also have the opportunity to visit conferences and summits globally throughout the year.

The growth opportunities in this position are to establish a fourth pillar of the University Program by creating a marketplace for innovation – an ecosystem for professors and students to freely share ideas and prototypes.

You have:

This role would suit somebody either in an academic profession (PhD graduate, Lecturer, Professor, Teaching Assistant) who is familiar with writing course materials, or somebody who is in a commercial environment who is interested in research and passionate about knowledge sharing.

  • Experience in system-on-chip (SoC) field-programmable gate array (FPGA) design
  • A deep knowledge of computer architecture (ideally RISC-V)
  • Exposure to Vivado or Quartus development environments
  • Programming skills in C or C++
  • Verilog or SystemVerilog (SV)
  • A strong understanding of electrical engineering, computer engineering or computer architecture
  • Previous experience developing curriculum assignments or teaching undergraduate and/or graduate students

The best candidates for us are self-motivated, decisive, proactive, comfortable with ambiguity, opinionated yet collaborative and passionate about continuous improvement as we scale up and disrupt the semiconductor industry.

What’s in it for you?

As this is the first of its kind in the semiconductor industry, joining Codasip’s Labs and University Program team is a chance to challenge yourself. You’ll structure how we incorporate RISC-V architecture and Codasip’s tools into the consciousness of the world’s brightest engineers entering the market.

Please note this position is fully remote and can be based in either the USA, Europe or the UK. There will potentially be some travel involved around the region where you are based, a couple of times per year maximum, with plenty of notice beforehand.
