Job Summary:

Altair is looking for an experienced Enterprise Architect to strengthen our internal architecture practice.  This position will drive the design and transformation of existing and new IT solutions.  The ideal candidate will possess both enterprise and solution architecture experience across a global environment.

This position reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Information Technology and has visibility to Altair’s global Information Technology strategy and projects.

What You Will Do:

  • Document and maintain architecture guidelines, principles and standards, position papers, solution blueprints, best practices, patterns and frameworks applicable to all technologies within the portfolio.
  • Research new and emerging cloud and web technologies, software and hardware solutions, and make recommendations based on the future development plans of the company.
  • Provide architectural leadership and guidance in exhibiting expertise across the global enterprise.
  • Architect and design tailor made technologies necessary to ensure a highly secure, yet usable computing environment.
  • Establish governance, including oversight of the design and implementation of IT systems, to ensure appropriate and effective security controls and standards are enforced.
  • Collaborate on functional and technical designs to identify areas of risk and validate assumptions.
  • Document and communicate opportunities to leverage inter-project synergies and investigate achieving application rationalization.

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 10 years enterprise architecture experience.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working with the following:
    • High level programming languages
    • Microsoft Azure, AWS, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Google Cloud Platform
    • Data storage and manipulation paradigms
    • Feature-rich web applications
  • Demonstrated experience architecting solutions with one or more compliance frameworks.
  • Five or more years working in a distributed and heterogeneous computing environment (Linux, Windows).
  • Experience in transforming legacy systems to global – common solutions.
  • Experience in latest security best practices and solutions.
  • Experience in developing comprehensive long-term technology roadmaps that keep pace with a rapidly evolving technological environment and increased competition.
  • In-depth knowledge of end-to-end systems development life cycles including iterative, agile, and other modern approaches to software development.
  • Ability to clearly communicate highly technical information to non-technical personnel.
  • Problem analysis and resolution skills at strategic, tactical and functional levels.
  • Willingly and successfully fulfills the role of teacher, mentor and coach.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
