Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Unix and Storage Administrator to join our IT team. The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of experience in Unix/Linux systems administration and storage management. In this role, you will be responsible for configuring, managing, and optimizing Unix-based systems and storage infrastructure to ensure high performance, availability, and security.

What You’ll Do:

Unix/Linux Administration:

• Perform day-to-day administration tasks for Unix/Linux systems, including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.

Storage Management:

• Manage storage infrastructure, including SAN and NAS systems.
• Allocate, configure, and maintain storage volumes to meet system and application requirements.

Backup and Recovery:

• Implement and manage backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
• Conduct regular tests of backup and recovery procedures.

Security Compliance:

• Implement and enforce security best practices on Unix/Linux systems and storage devices.
• Ensure compliance with security procedures.

Scripting and Automation:

• Develop and maintain scripts (Bash, Shell, etc.) for automation of routine tasks to enhance system and storage efficiency.

Performance Monitoring:

• Monitor system and storage performance, identifying and addressing potential issues to ensure optimal performance.

Collaboration:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly.
• Provide technical support to end-users and assist in resolving technical problems.

Documentation:

• Create and maintain documentation for system configurations, storage configurations, and operational procedures.
• You will be reporting to Director of IT.

What You’ll Need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, ECE, BCA/MCA/Diploma or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience as a Unix and Storage Administrator.
• Proficient in Unix/Linux operating systems (e.g., CentOS, Ubuntu).
• Experience with storage technologies, SAN and NAS systems.
• Scripting skills (Bash, Shell) for automation.
• Knowledge of backup and recovery strategies.
• Familiarity with security best practices for Unix/Linux systems.

Good To Have:

• In-depth knowledge of the EDA tools used in the organization.
• Ability to resolve issues related to EDA tools.
• Ability to manage projects related to tool deployment and updates.
• Effective interaction with EDA tool vendors for support and updates
• Familiarity with containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet).
• Understanding of networking concepts and protocols
