Electrical System Engineer – E-Mobility

Job Summary:

Our client in Auburn Hills, MI is looking for an Electrical System Engineer – E-Mobility.  This is a long-term contract position.

What You Will Do:

Powertrain in multiple locations including California, Pennsylvania, and Auburn Hills, MI.  As an Electric Powertrain engineer, the candidate will be involved in testing and developing advanced prototype and production solutions in E-Mobility area. The job requires vehicle electrical system design, schematics development, vehicle electrical integration, electrical component testing and documentation.

What You Will Need:

• Must have strong fundamentals in electric vehicle drive components and energy storage system
• E-Motors, Inverters, Battery, Charger, DC/DC
• Strong knowledge in Electric Vehicle architecture, controls and testing methods including calibration and optimization
• Strong knowledge in Electric Vehicle testing for efficiency analysis
• Strong knowledge in instrumentation and test plan development for Electric Vehicle, E-Motor and Battery testing
• Strong knowledge in Should have good understanding of E-Motor testing, Battery testing and calibration
• Inverter calibration.
• Motor and Battery testing standards
• Strong knowledge and understanding of High-Voltage safety concepts for HV components and electrical wiring
• Strong knowledge in High-Voltage and Low Voltage electrical system design
• Power net design, Power distribution unit, wiring, safety HVIL etc.
• Must be able to design junction boxes, power distribution boxes and fuse boxes
• Should be able to design automotive communication network (CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet)
• Should be able to prepare good documentation of the design
• Good knowledge in Hybrid and EV system architecture design
• Good understanding of vehicle control system requirements
• Must be able to lead technically and provide guidance
• Must be able to develop innovative solutions and application-specific design
• Knowledge in vehicle propulsion and performance calibration
• Vehicle testing and calibration for electric system efficiency optimization
• Professional communication skills to interact with customers
