Position Summary:
Jim Collins, Director of IT Operations for the IT Operations team at Perforce is searching for a Desktop Support Engineer I to join the team. We are looking for an individual who is responsible for the effective delivery of high quality basic desktop support services to the Perforce internal user community.
Responsibilities:
- Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve daily issues related to workstations, peripherals, phones, mobile devices, operating systems, and applications
- Provide installation, configuration and support of desktop computers, peripheral equipment and software
- Collaborate with the Perforce Infrastructure & Web Applications teams to resolve complex issues and ensure efficient operation of the desktop computing environment
- Work with hiring managers to order hardware / software for new employees and set up new workstations in a timely manner
- Perform routine updates of desktop hardware and software
- Rebuild, configure and repair desktop equipment as needed
- Research IT purchase requests, obtain approvals, request PO’s, and receive / distribute equipment
- Conduct annual hardware/software inventory
- Perform annual license updates and routine database updates of antivirus software
- Provide IT support at Perforce events and company meetings as needed
- Provide backup support for the Perforce Security system (Stanley)
- Deliver daily updates on status of current tickets, open issues and projects
Requirements:
- 2-year computer-related degree plus a minimum of 2-4 years’ experience required in a heterogeneous environment (Windows, Mac, Linux)
- Superior customer service skills with an ability to work comfortably with customers with a wide range of personalities and technical expertise
- Demonstrated proficiency in diagnosing and resolving complex problems with computer hardware and software
- Highly motivated self-starter – able to work quickly and independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Strong sense of achievement and willingness to contribute to a dynamic team environment
- Familiarity with VMWare and virtual machines a plus

- Must be able to lift 50-100 pounds
