Compliance/IT Security Specialist

Altair’s Global IT Systems Team is currently seeking a highly talented and motivated individual for the position of Compliance/IT Security Specialist.

A successful candidate will be engaged with our Global IT Systems team to advise, develop controls, test controls, and continuously strengthen internal infrastructure using best practice compliance and IT security tools. Opportunity also exists to be involved in compliance and IT security controls development, testing, and implementation in our broad and varied product offerings.  This person will be confident working in a multi-vendor environment and will participate as a member of a dynamic and global team.

Job Summary:

What You Will Do:

• A challenging opportunity to develop and extend compliance and IT security controls and tools with a global perspective by:
• Creating policies, procedures, and guidance for global information security.
• Proactively overseeing vulnerability management, cloud mitigation, and risk assessments.
• Managing incident responses.
• Improving site-to-site and internal security using layered compliance and IT security tools.
• Advising, developing, and testing IT security controls in our environment, and depending on the successful candidate, one or more of Altair’s varied product offerings.
• Grow and maintain our world-wide Mesh VPN, using both physical and virtual firewall appliances.
• Further automation in the areas of network log aggregation, flow reporting, and change deployment.
• Interaction with compliance and security best practice development organizations, such as user groups, online discussion areas, and other means to not only stay current but be aware of future developments in compliance and IT security tools.
• Opportunities to learn and work in other aspects of our IT operations, project development, and product development in our global organization.

What You Will Need:

Basics:

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Services, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Must have ITAR / DFARS / NIST 800-171 Export Controlled experience.
• 3-5 years experience in Compliance and/or IT Security specialties.
• Previous experience with incident response.
• Experience creating a Vulnerability Management Program.
• Demonstrated familiarity with IT General Controls development, such as ISO 27001, NIST 800 series, or similar.
• Intrusion protection and prevention tools and practices.
• IPv4 and IPv6 networking.
• Good spoken and written communications in English for collaboration on reports and colleagues.
•  As Altair has a multi-vendor environment, Altair will provide vendor and internal training specific to our implementation.

Preferred:

• Infrastructure Architecture experience.
• Proven ability to research, learn and apply new technologies.
