Job Summary:
Our client in Novi, MI is looking for a CAE Analyst. This is a long-term contract position.
What You Will Do:
- Support efforts to obtain new business through accurate and detailed structural, vibration and durability analysis simulations, customer presentations and technology reviews while protecting company’s intellectual property.
- Work closely with product development engineering to offer timely solutions that positively impact project costs, timing, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Participate in internal or external program meetings with engineering and customers, technical design reviews or other discussions and effectively explain CAE results and conclusions.
- Work to develop, deploy and document new or enhanced CAE methods which may improve accuracy, decrease turnaround time, add capability or reduce costs.
- Conduct CAE correlation studies in collaboration with engineering and testing operations.
- Adhere to company, department and CAE team organizational processes.
- Effectively communicate with internal and external partners, work collaboratively with other company teams and follow manager’s instructions.
What You Will Need:
- A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in structural finite element analysis is required. 1-2 years of experience in structural analyses and problem solving in the automotive field is preferred.
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering is required; a Master’s degree or Ph.D. is preferred
Preferred:
- Familiarity with the operation and function of automotive heat exchangers, fluid transport lines and HVAC modules. Able to translate function and operation into CAE initial and boundary conditions.
- Experience and technical knowledge in the efficient utilization of one or more general purpose CAE pre/post-processor(s) and solver(s) (Abaqus, ANSYS and NASTRAN preferred).
- Experience with Catia V5 CAD tool and basic Linux skills. Capable with one or more computer programming or scripting languages (i.e. Python, C, FORTRAN, etc.).
- Experience in utilizing high performance computing systems for advanced CAE simulations.
- Effective time management, written and oral communication skills.
