Job Description:

The Applications Engineer will be focus on supporting Synopsys comprehensive digital implementation solutions. The areas include complete RTL2GDSII design implementation flow steps, e.g. physical synthesis + placement, CTS, routing and chip finishing. This position is responsible for timely identification and resolution of customer support with no or little guidance, apply and communicate to the global customers alone, work directly with customers gaining full understanding of their issues, helps customers to resolve their critical technical issues with Synopsys digital implementation solutions or successfully driving customer requests to create complete customer satisfaction through interfacing with other Field Application Engineers, Product Application Engineers, or R&D Engineers.

In addition, digital implementation AEs will proactively contribute and communicate to the corporation in areas of tool improvement and leveraged support, present product-specific technical trainings to customers, demonstrate the ability to manage typical volume of customer issues as well as critical technical support requests. They also provide technical feedback to Synopsys product development teams pertaining to critical issues and recommended enhancements.

Requirements:

  • BS with 7+ years or Master with 5+ experiences in EE/CS/Semiconductor
  • Hands-on experiences in RTL-to-GDSII design implementation tools / methodology / flow
  • Rich physical design implementation knowledge and experiences
  • Knowledge of logic design, synthesis, and power analysis / optimization
  • Self-directed problem debugging and resolution skills and experiences
  • Excellent verbal and written presentation/communication skills are mandatory
  • Able to multiplex many issues & set priorities, have a helpful/caring attitude towards customers
  • Customer sensitivity, desire to help customers exploit new technologies
