Summary / Role Purpose

The Senior Product Specialist works closely with Application Engineers and product developers to drive product development and provide expert help in deployment of complex advanced features. In this role, the Senior Product Specialist will use advanced technical and problem-solving skills to tackle complex issues, ensure product quality, and shape direction of new product features.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop competence in one or more products working independently and be recognized as an expert
  • Lead portions of projects and motivates others towards a common goal.  Displays desire to get involved. Instills confidence in others
  • Work with Customers & Application Engineers to understand emerging needs / requirements and create product specifications
  • Validate new product features & ensure it meets the requirements and quality
  • Provide expertise to application engineers and customers in deploying advanced solutions
  • Develop the trust and respect of team members
  • Learn new tasks and adapt to change, establish priorities, and handle various tasks simultaneously, perform job under pressure or in critical situations

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 5 years’ experience, MS with 3 years’ experience, or PhD
  • Working experience with scripting languages (Python, JavaScript) and commercial FEA, CFD, Electronics (EMI/EMC, SI etc.), optimization or systems engineering software packages.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Excellent technical knowledge and commercial experience with enterprise solutions like PLM, ALM or requirements management.
  • Passion for crafting robust and efficient code
  • Experience delivering high-quality support for large-scale commercial software
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a geographically distributed team
