Job Summary:

Altair is looking for highly motivated and energetic Presales Specialists to join an aggressive supportive team.  Looking for those with the ability to navigate and adapt in a fast-paced environment.  Responsibilities will include providing presales support and expertise related to Altair’ RapidMiner analytics suite and consulting services.  In this role you will be focusing on supporting the sales process from qualification to services handoff for large, technically complex sales opportunities. This position requires strong communication skills, both verbal and written to deliver Altair’s value proposition to key stake holders outlining both immediate and long-term business value. Travel will be up to 25%.

What You Will Do:

  • Co-lead discovery sessions with sales representatives to develop an understanding of customer’s existing business challenges and craft a solution
  • Work strategically with sales management to deliver forecast, identify opportunities and provide recommendations
  • Develop an understanding of customers business requirements
  • Participate in delivering customer presentations, providing and expert point of view
  • Demonstrate the features and benefits of Altair’s RapidMiner and SLC platforms.
  • Provide support in the development of opportunities and account strategies
  • Ensure successful transition of consulting service requirements to the service delivery team
  • Assist with marketing support by writing technical white papers, video scripts and participating in analyst briefings
  • Support in developing sales enablement tools such as technical slides for presentations, ROI calculators and internal training documents
  • Support RFx qualification and responses
  • Keep informed of Altair’s RapidMiner products along with competing products and industry trends
  • Develop a trusted advisor relationship with key accounts, customer stakeholders and executive sponsors

What You Will Need:

Basics:

  • 2+ years of experience in technical presales support role or solutions consulting in the areas of data mining, data engineering, machine learning, data visualization, statistics or “Big Data” related analytical disciplines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal including strong presentation and demonstration skills, ability to influence credibly to all levels of business including C-level executives
  • Proven analytic skills/understanding of programming and algorithm development
  • System / Cloud Architecture experience and certification such as TOGAF
  • Working knowledge of data prep for predictive analytics as well as machine learning modelling and concepts
  • BI technologies like Power BI, IBM Cognos, SAP Business Objects Tableau and Qlik would be an asset
  • Knowledge of Data Science platforms like Dataiku, DataRobot, Databricks, Knime Alteryx would be an asset
  • Knowledge of open-source languages and related technologies as well as any other data science related languages like R, Python, and SQL
  • Experience addressing challenges with “Big Data” using Jupyter/PySpark and Hadoop would be an asset
  • Experience in producing and delivering client-focused non solicited proposed solutions based on customer requirements
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects while paying strict attention to detail University undergrad degree in Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline
  • Post Grad Data Science related degrees or certificates also preferable

Preferred:

  • Presales or solution consulting experience supports sales and the sales process, especially financial services
  • Real-world experience in supporting financial risk modeling and regulatory reporting would be an asset
  •  Experience delivering SAS language-based data/statistics projects including knowledge of SAS Data Step code and other language of SAS procedures

  Language:

  • Professional speaking level in Italian and English mandatory
  • Additional spoken language, specifically Spanish and French would be an asset
