Job Summary:

Our client in Dearborn, MI is looking for a Manufacturing Eng General. This is a contract position.

What You Will Do:

  • Assist in the development of the scope of work for Advance Engineering design requirements.
  • Provide layout assistance and cost support as necessary throughout the program.
  • Be an interface between process engineers, Manufacturing Engineer, etc.
  • Ensure compliance to program intent identified in the program.
  • Field investigation as required during concept layout development.
  • Periodic site visits for engineering field observations and questions.
  • Review release layouts and identify/verify layout issues/interferences are being addressed.
  • Develop CAD overall layout drawings.
  • Develop alternate layouts as required to support studies.
  • Field investigation as required during overall and alternate layout development.
  • Develop concept cross sections, carrier drawings, details, clearance verification, etc.
  • Incorporate initial facility, conveyor and tooling vendor drawings into the overall master layout.
  • Provide the VO staff with layout requirements, plots, etc.
  • Identify layout issues/interferences and existing plant constraints.
  • Alternate layout development as required to resolve issues and concerns.
  • Cleanup vendors drawings for incorporation into overall layouts.
  • Regular release of the plant layouts and documentation of the changes.
  • Verification the layout releases Cad standards before layout uploaded to system.
  • Verification of as built conditions before release layouts are uploaded to system.
  • Upload as built at end of phases and final release to the layout system as master.

Basics:

  • Bachelor degree.
  • AutoCAD.
  • Factory Design Suite.
  • Team Center training.
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Power Point, etc.).
  • Strong verbal & written communication and presentation skills.
  • CAD experience.
  • Automotive Manufacturing Engineering experience.
  • Experience w/tooling, processes and facilities.
  • Extended travel to assembly plants in US, Canada, and/or Mexico.
  • Position is for assembly plants in Louisville.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor degree in engineering.
  • Teamcenter experience.
  • Conveyor experience.
  • Construction experience.
  • Experience in one or more of the following: Interior, Exterior, Chassis, Powertrain, Electrical, Water test, End of Line.
