This position confers upon us an incredible responsibility, which inspires us every day: to enable the widespread adoption of technological innovations while significantly limiting their environmental impact, in line with responsible innovation and sustainable development principles.
What does the job consist?
Within the Sustainability & Safety department, you will support Soitec in reducing its environmental impact, and more specifically its greenhouse gas emissions. As part of this effort, the company aims to integrate carbon footprint considerations into the management of business travel, which is currently driven primarily by financial and operational criteria.
The aim of this internship is to explore the implementation of a carbon budget applied to business travel. This approach seeks to better understand current practices, identify potential areas for improvement, and experiment with new management methods.
Main missions
In this context, you will be required to:
- Analyze existing data relating to business travel in order to identify the types of travel undertaken, their distribution by mode, the associated costs and the carbon footprint.
- To contribute, based on this analysis, to the emergence of ways to structure indicators that will improve the management of travel and its environmental impact.
- Understanding the practices and needs of teams by exchanging with different departments and managers in order to identify current uses, operational constraints related to travel and room for maneuver to evolve practices.
- Identify teams likely to participate in a pilot project.
Internship objective
The internship will also aim to prepare an initial pilot project by formalizing a carbon budgeting approach tailored to the company. This approach will notably need to specify the operating principles, associated indicators, monitoring methods, and deployment conditions.
Requirements & qualifications
You come from an engineering school, business school or Grande École program, with a strong interest in topics related to the ecological transition, climate strategies or the transformation of organizations.
This internship requires strong analytical and data structuring skills, as well as an interest in approaches that combine quantitative analysis with an understanding of organizational practices. Proficiency in data manipulation (Excel or equivalent tools) will be highly valued.
We will also be attentive to your ability to interact with a variety of people, to conduct exploratory interviews and to present the analyses carried out in a clear and structured manner.
Finally, curiosity, analytical skills and an interest in environmental issues will be essential qualities for success in this internship.
