As a student intern, you will help develop our industry-leading simulation software while gaining real experience in your field of study. You will work on a variety of impactful projects to help maintain, advance, and accelerate Ansys products.
In this internship, you will support our Meshing Development Unit (MDU) team. This is a 40-hour per week paid position starting August 2025 and concluding December 2025.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs software product testing and investigates possible causes of problems according to the company’s overall development and testing processes.
- Helps to analyze requirements and develops tests suitable for new features within the appropriate environment.
- Creates, updates, and modifies existing tests, as necessary.
- Performs functional, application, regression, and performance tests in a manual and/or automated test environment.
- Participates in Code review and approval process.
- Detects and writes software defect reports.
- Understands and reproduces product defects and works with developers to determine the best resolution.
Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience
- Pursuing BS or MS in Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Chemical, Computer Engineering or other engineering discipline with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Must be currently enrolled in a full-time degree program and returning to university after the completion of the internship program.
- Computing skills with demonstrated knowledge of Windows/Linux operating systems and programming/scripting languages.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Experience with Python, C/C++ programming languages.
- Familiarity with Ansys products.
- Familiarity with computer-aided software engineering tools and the associated engineering principles.
- Ability to learn quickly and to collaborate with others in a geographically distributed team
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- General skills in planning and problem solving.
- A thorough and careful approach to work; close attention to detail.
