There will come a point were AI/ML feed on themselves and increase their power just like a nuclear reaction starts out small and grows at a tremendously fast and accelerating rate? How long do the readers feel it will take to reach this point of a major inflection point that will dramatically change almost everything in our world at an ever-accelerating rate? At what point will critical mass be reached and where will it occur, what country and what companies?
It could be a while -- I've read that AI training is getting trickier over time because more of the internet is AI generated content. You run into problems making new generations of AI effective because of increasing noise to signal (useful and/or novel data).
I think it's going to require AI that's connected to something that can "experience the physical world" before we see a chance of that exponential growth here -- think robots, cars, etc..
