Single Molecule Switch, Self Assembly

This technology could be a further step down in node shrink and possibly self assembly. Any observations or opinions on where this could go? I feel this could be a significant step towards 2D semis which would be a quantum leap and game changer in almost everything in leading edge semis. Imagine if planar surpassed 3D for performance and cost and 3D is just a stepping stone.

Hi, many thanks for this great article.
It is an organic one, which limit its application. Silicon is not much thermal sensitive. Organics will change its states even on top of a running CPU. What those organic molecular electronics can do is very promising. In short, it can be the only way to help us live forever. Aging was unavoidable in cells for billions of years. Searching for panacea is never ending story. Bio products can not reach each single cell of human body. Big MEMS can not enter small cells. Only the molecular electronics can lead to a molecular device, which can boost the vital power inside cells.
