Fuzzy logic AI

I think a compelling application for AI is security. Device security for example. Our phones should know who we are by what we do, where we are, how we hold the phone, etc... Another is National security and predictive profiling. AI will also require mega compute power in the cloud and on the edge so that is great news for the semiconductor industry.

True, AI will be important for security.

Also, in most systems that are driven by complex rules, an AI model based on enough data will do better, and of course in systems which it's impossible or very difficult to infer those rules, AI fits well.

Also in places where the leading edge is covered by patents, AI may lead us to finding different ideas of implementation, some of them so different than our regular way of thinking, so they won't be covered by patents.

And i've also seen a somewhat plausible generalization: in most hairy problems, it's worthwhile to try AI, it will help improve many of them.

And sure, AI could eat a lot of silicon.
