Who Controls the Chips, Controls the World: The Silicon Cold War

You are right, semiconductors will just be an excuse. Hopefully semiconductors will keep people safer in the future. Wars will be fought with drones and robots backed by massive datacenters full of semiconductors that in return will poison the earth. I see a movie deal somewhere in there.

Countries will probably go to war over semiconductors so there is that.

Who Controls the Chips, Controls the World: The Silicon Cold War

The great power struggle of the twenty-first century is no longer waged in battlefields or oil markets. It is now fought in the microscopic circuits of semiconductors. Its value was once dismissed and they were seen only as the invisible backbone of consumer electronics and chips but they have...

2nm Leaked Logic Density Comparison from X (Rapidus TSMC, Intel Samsung)

Comments on the accuracy? The other thing to note is that TSMC N2 and Intel 18A are in production. Rapidus 2HP is targeted for 2027. Intel will have 18P and TSMC will have N2x by then and Samsung 3nm never made it into HVM. I don't know where this leaked from but it certainly was not from the...

SK Hynix adopts next-generation HNA-EUV ASML production equipment for DRAM

I do not see how HNA EUV passes the ROI test on DRAM. This seems to be a "We are first" moment putting Samsung in its place, which is fine.

TSMC to raise foundry prices by 5-10% across advanced nodes in 2026

Yield is compared to previous nodes. For example, N2 is yielding earlier than N3. TSMC has a set of defensible tests, SRAM being one of them. Customer yield may vary. If a customer makes a bad design decision, which happens, TSMC yield should not be affected.

TSMC denies Nvidia CEO's August visit was to deliver Trump message

Even Jensen Huang (Nvidia CEO) has a "Buy" rating on TSMC ("anybody who wants to buy TSMC stock is a very smart person"). Never in the 30+ year history of Nvidia and TSMC have I ever seen Jensen so complimentary of TSMC and that will tell you how close they are working together.

TSMC to raise foundry prices by 5-10% across advanced nodes in 2026

Yes, price increases are coming. That is what you get with no competition. TSMC, however, deserves every penny, yielding at N3 and N2 when no one did is simply amazing, absolutely.
