Podcast EP288: How Alphawave Semi Enables Next Generation Connectivity with Bharat Tailor
Dan is joined by Bharat Tailor who is responsible for the Alphawave standard connectivity products portfolio focused on DSP chipsets enabling AI data center interconnects. He is a veteran of the high-speed connectivity semiconductor industry having participated in the evolution of connectivity technologies from 10Gbps to the current discussions on 3.2T and beyond.
Dan explores the many demands of high speed, high density and low power connectivity with Bharat. Driven by ever-growing AI deployment, Bahrat explains some of the many constraints that must be met for next generation systems. He describes Alphawave’s move to a semiconductor supplier and how that has facilitated a very broad product portfolio to address the many needs ahead.
He describes how Alphawave’s silicon IP, chiplets, custom silicon and connectivity products work together to address the demands of applications such as those found in hyperscale data centers. He explains that three of four engagements are now focused on chip delivery at Alphawave Semi. Baraht also discusses the path to 448 Gpbs channels and some of the technical problems that must be solved.
