Very Fragile Ecosystems, The Golden Opportunity #2

The peace dividends from scaling back the potential military conflicts have never been more staggeringly large as they are now. As modern communications, the container ship, and the ability and tools of the internet have given untold speed to communications, the world now has the ability to collaborate on a scale never dreamed of or even widely discussed before. Taiwan has become a fulcrum on which this world depends and it's not just TSM, but a whole host of companies that the government of Taiwan has fostered and nurtured. Militaries on all sides have their own agendas and it is these special military interests on all sides that have to be scaled back, not only for the damage they cause, but the resources and potential they consume and hobble. It is far, far better that the ecosystem that Taiwan has become not only be left intact, but carefully nurtured to its full potential as the key to making the world a better place for all sides.

This ecosystem and its branches that extend worldwide are becoming larger and more fragile as the technologies and talent to support it become ever more diverse. There are resources of all types coming from both developed countries and even undeveloped countries. Being able to reign in both physical and cyberwar machines is critical to maintaining the progress that is now increasing at an ever accelerating rate in just about everything we use and touch. If the powers that be can get together and learn to focus on the massive benefits that collaboration can bring over conflict, we could have the ability to deal with the myriad of challenges we have from overpopulation to climate change to opportunities for all.

Artificial intelligence is about to come into the picture shortly and will need the greatest of care to handle properly for as with any great power comes great danger. This is the ultimate golden opportunity and there will be enough for all if handled properly, for with AI/ML our ability to utilize current resources and create new ones will become almost unlimited for the ability of AI/ML and automation to leverage all resources mental and physical on a scale almost unimaginable. Many will stand in the way, including militaries that could end up shrinking dramatically if a true age of collaboration and cooperation can be unleashed to some degree and hopefully a great degree in the future. It is time to embrace the technological revolution of AI/ML that is not only not mature, but in its infancy. The supply chains are getting more fragile and widespread all the time and need to be nutured with care. In conflict, urged on by militaries with their own interests, all will greatly lose for we can now see mankind now has the power to prosper or destroy itself with easy reach. Not only must decisions reached, but actions taken. Collaboration and cooperation will be needed and is now possible with the communications and tools the tech revolution has given us.
