Trump demand's Intel CEO's resignation

It is weird that Tan got an invitation to the White House after refusing to follow Trump's demand that he immediately resign. So, the way to get a White House invitation is to tell Trump "No"? That's sort of what Tim Cook did with Trump's demand that Apple build iPhones in the US, but the get out of jail free card cost Apple another $100B investment promise. Quantum physics hasn't been looking so weird to me lately when compared to US executive branch politics.

POTUS likes quantum entanglement, if he is being observed he prefers that everyone else has no options anymore to be revealed, it is all determined by POTUS' measurement...

I think Trimp's close associates are harrassing Intel to do speculative trading with its papers like they did with the entire electronics industry during the phony tariff row

well they should buy the stock chep and give Intel $Billion for fabs and says Intel is US's Semi Darling insta profit

The Trump taunts are meant to do one thing - create chaos so the target of the taunts ignores what he really wants. Trump can't remove Mr Tan as CEO any more than pigs can fly (ignore for the moment Trump could use the weight of the entire US government to harass Intel until they concede); he answers to the board of directors, who answer to shareholders. The single most important measure of the effectiveness of a CEO of a public company is the market capitalization of the company. The price of the stock indicates investors are betting on higher future revenue and a greater return on their investment. If the stock languishes for too long, the CEO will be replaced by the board of directors, just ask Mr Gelsinger.

The CEO has one job - produce more revenue for Intel; how he does that is up to him. Based on his previous record over the last 30 or so years, I have a lot of confidence in his ability to improve Intel as long as he is given an opportunity. The worst possible outcome is for Intel to abandon Lip Bu Tan; if they do that they may as well hold a fire sale and just go out of business.

But when the board of the company is the issue what will he do? It's the duty of the board to select the right CEO and i would give board a i(iota yes imaginary rating) rating cause i can't imagine what rating i would give them.

Unbelievable.

President Trump said Monday that he met with Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan, days after the U.S. leader called on Tan to resign. Intel shares rose 2% in extended trading.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump praised Tan and said Tan and members of the Cabinet would come up with suggestions.

“I met with Mr. Lip-Bu Tan, of Intel, along with Secretary of Commerce, Howard Lutnick, and Secretary of the Treasury, Scott Bessent,” Trump wrote. “The meeting was a very interesting one. His success and rise is an amazing story. Mr. Tan and my Cabinet members are going to spend time together, and bring suggestions to me during the next week. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

Oh... I missed your post about the 100% foreseeable act when Trump's original demand to resign was posted. Maybe I just wasn't paying attention. 🙄

That's been the story of my entire seven decade life.
Blueone, I’m referring to the Farce of the Deal: making a huge bluster or bluff, having the opponent grovel at your feet in public, and then act like the nothing-deal that comes from it was your doing and master plan the whole time and your opponent has acquiesced.

He does it 100% of the time. It is literally in his book. From real estate to tariffs to suing media companies and universities.

Also, the last person to speak to him is what forms his latest opinion. That’s why you have to go talk to him. Bug that’s less of the deal making part and more that he’s 80 effing years old.
