Trump demand's Intel CEO's resignation

Any opinions on this ?
I was gonna post the same but I think I agree with Lip Bu Spinning off foundries is a bad idea and US wanna offload them to TSMC cause they don't understand a Damm thing and neither TSMC/Intel wants it what I am hearing is Yeary is on board with it from the rumors.
Why would Intel spin-off foundry it's better for them to quit after 18A/AP if 14A doesn't materializes milk the cow get back your investment.

Then why would USG so eager to spin off or sell to TSMC? Are they so eager to have a monopoly ? Everyone else is mostly just committed to building in US. Intel is the only that is building majority of its stuff in US. They should be treated like a darling in that respect. I am puzzled 😂

Exactly they are the company that has done the deed but they are getting sidelined but companies that are doing vaporware are getting pr truly amazing xDd.

LBT public statement https://newsroom.intel.com/corporate/my-commitment-to-you-and-our-company

The following note from Lip-Bu Tan was sent to all Intel Corporation employees on August 7, 2025:
Dear Team,
I know there has been a lot in the news today, and I want to take a moment to address it directly with you.
Let me start by saying this: The United States has been my home for more than 40 years. I love this country and am profoundly grateful for the opportunities it has given me. I also love this company. Leading Intel at this critical moment is not just a job – it’s a privilege. This industry has given me so much, our company has played such a pivotal role, and it's the honor of my career to work with you all to restore Intel's strength and create the innovations of the future. Intel's success is essential to U.S. technology and manufacturing leadership, national security, and economic strength. This is what fuels our business around the world. It’s what motivated me to join this team, and it’s what drives me every day to advance the important work we’re doing together to build a stronger future.
There has been a lot of misinformation circulating about my past roles at Walden International and Cadence Design Systems. I want to be absolutely clear: Over 40+ years in the industry, I’ve built relationships around the world and across our diverse ecosystem – and I have always operated within the highest legal and ethical standards. My reputation has been built on trust – on doing what I say I’ll do, and doing it the right way. This is the same way I am leading Intel.
We are engaging with the Administration to address the matters that have been raised and ensure they have the facts. I fully share the President’s commitment to advancing U.S. national and economic security, I appreciate his leadership to advance these priorities, and I’m proud to lead a company that is so central to these goals.
The Board is fully supportive of the work we are doing to transform our company, innovate for our customers, and execute with discipline – and we are making progress. It’s especially exciting to see us ramping toward high-volume manufacturing using the most advanced semiconductor process technology in the country later this year. It will be a major milestone that’s a testament to your work and the important role Intel plays in the U.S. technology ecosystem.
Looking ahead, our mission is clear, and our opportunity is enormous. I’m proud to be on this journey with you.
Thank you for everything you’re doing to strengthen our company for the future.
Lip-Bu

I find it interesting, that while implied, Lip-Bu Tan never directly comes out and says it is his intent to remain the CEO of the company. It kind of feels like he is leaving the door open to leave if he feels his presence at the company turns into too much of a firestorm.

Personally I think it is a good letter. I do not think it would have been appropriate for Lip-Bu to throw a fit and refuse to step down etc.... That is not Lip-Bu. The letter is straight and to the point. It is a Mary Poppins letter, practically perfect in every way.

I don't read it that way. It's a classy letter which quite intentionally does not engage with the [IMHO] ridiculous allegations about him. He says everything that needs to be said and nothing else. Whether it works with Trump is another matter which few of us can predict - I suspect it's not showing the requisite degree of cringing obsequience expected ...

Frank Yeary also never said he is committed to the board. But after so many months of calls for him to resign he is still there. So I guess sometimes commitment is better displayed through actions than words, for better or for worse😂

He think in too lofty terms, that's a weakness. Of course he thinks very much on how this will reflect on the boardroom politics, and chance of panic sales of Intel's stock (which will be inevitably seized on by activist investor players,) but this is not how to handle a confrontation.

An unanswered provocation always invites more trouble, and further hostile advances.
