I see the development of AI/ML is still in its early stages and costs and power required will go down and performance go up. New ways of achieving these goals will come as AI/ML attract more talent and attention. We won't recognize the AI/ML structures we will see in the next five years. Just like all other technologies, advances won't stop and the amount of talent applied to these challenges worldwide will find solutions. I feel we will see optical computing in the not too distant future applied in more and more areas. All these factors will drive down the costs as we have seen with almost all technologies. Any thoughts or comments appreciated.
I agree that costs and power will go down and AI will be more accessible to every day consumers. I think an early example is Apple Intelligence, where they’ve managed to implement an on-device model. But the only devices that can run it are the A17 Pro or later; M1 or later; M1 Max or later etc.
