Hello ,

i need to make an asic from an fgpa model and i need to maked this very quickly, and at reasonnable rate.

does any one have good contacts with foundries so we can get this done very fast?

please pm your proposal as time is the essence in this project.

thanks

p.s:message to moderator ,i do not know if this is the right place to post, please move it where you find it appropriate thanks

There are a dozen or more service companies that can convert your FPGA to an ASIC. What have you looked at so far? Which FPGA are you using? What is the volume, speed and power that you need?

hi daniel,
the basis is spartan6.volume will depend on the speed of the asic.i don t have contacts of any of them or didn t get any proposal.
the fgpa design is ready all we need is to have an asic made from the fgpa asap.

if you have any company who can do this and deliver very fast please let me know their contacts.

thanks

hi daniel

thank you for your links and replies
i ve already started to talk to onsemi but they are very slow to start.
i ll look at the others as well

this one is not clickable : FPGA-to-ASIC conversion with zero NRE

it seems the most interesting one

thanks again

Let us know how your conversion process goes, I'm sure that others will be interested to hear which company that you worked with and how the ASIC turned out.

If it's just synthesizable logic you can probably use any low-volume ASIC service. You can for example contact my colleagues: Price estimation form. We also provide digital front-end and/or back-end services.
If you use and need specific Spartan IP blocks you may try to contact Xilinx to see if they still provide EasyPath, but looking at their website all references seem to be removed.

Sir,

There are several ways in which design implemented in FPGA can be converted into ASIC. Each approach has its own pros and cons.

The road with least NRE and fastest turn around time is converting it to a sturcture ASIC. In structured ASIC in general the chip up to metal 1/ metal 2 are pre-fabricated and top metal layers are customized according to the logic. But the drawbacks are the part cost will be high. Also the solution is possible if the analog components you have in your design is available in that particular structure ASIC solution

The other one is MLR based solution. This is a full fledged ASIC manufacturing, but more than one metal layers is fabricated using one mask. The cost of mask (hence NRE) is lower. But the part cost is higher and production rate is also slower. Also the production will take time to start as full physical implementation needs to be done.

Next is full mask set which has highest NRE, but lowest part price. Production starting time is similar to the MLR solution

Also you mentioned that your volume depends on speed achieved. The speed achievable depends on process node. Lower the proceess node, higher the speed, but NRE is will be higher.

Our company SmartPlay Technologies is leading ASIC services company. We are rated as 2nd largest VLSI design service company in India. We have done several ASIC designs upto 22 nm technology process node.

We can provide you the best option for your requirement. We can study your design, your speed and power requirement, your volume requirement and then provide you the best possible solution. Post that we can take your FPGA design, do the required physical implementation, procure necessary IP and produce GDSII. We can then take the GDSII to the foundry, get the die manufactured, package it and test it. We can also develop the SoC evaluation board where you can test your ASIC functionality.

Please me an e-mail at barun.de@smartplayin.com so that we can start the discussion.

hi barun

as i said in my first post, i need a very fast delivery
and i need a reasonnable proposal in terms of time and price

i personnally think that structured asic or something similar would be best for me but we need a competitive pricing(specially in term of nre)
what s happened to the company who was claiming to work on zero NRE?

is there any other company who is able to propose something similar?

i ve dropped you an email i m waiting your proposal asap.

thanks

Hi, if it is still a topic .. we are doing all kind of ASIC-designs. Since we are a research institute
we have some possibilities to make cheap offers for low quantities.
Just drop a message to analogcmos into the gmx.net ..
best
