London, UK
Microelectronics UK 2026 will return to Excel London on 29–30 September 2026, bringing together the UK’s semiconductor, photonics and embedded systems communities for two days of technical insight, industry collaboration and engineering-led discussion.
Following a successful debut in 2025, the event has expanded for 2026 with five dedicated stages, more than 150 exhibitors and over 120 speakers. Organisers, IQPC Exhibitions, expect more than 4,000 engineers, researchers, developers and technical decision-makers to attend.
Free to attend for qualified professionals and engineering students, the event is designed to support collaboration across the entire electronics supply chain — from chip design and photonic integration to embedded software, manufacturing and advanced systems engineering.
The 2026 edition is delivered in association with the UK Government’s Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) and Department for Business and Trade (DBT), reflecting growing national focus on semiconductor capability, supply chain resilience and advanced technology innovation.
“Microelectronics UK 2025 demonstrated the demand for a national event built specifically for the engineering community,” said Group Event Director, Michael Adeniya. “For 2026, we’re expanding the technical programme, bringing together more voices from across the supply chain and creating a platform focused on practical engineering challenges, innovation and collaboration.”
The event programme spans five dedicated content areas:
Semiconductors UK – covering chip design, EDA tools, heterogeneous architectures, advanced packaging, compound semiconductors and supply chain strategy.
Photonics UK – focused on silicon photonics, optical communications, defence applications, space technologies and next-generation connectivity.
Embedded Systems UK – exploring edge AI, cybersecurity, RISC-V, safety-critical systems and intelligent infrastructure.
Startup Launchpad – hosted by Silicon Catalyst and showcasing emerging microelectronics companies.
Discovery Stage – featuring hands-on demonstrations, workshops and careers-focused content through the Talent Foundry programme.
Confirmed speakers already include representatives from organisations including UK Semiconductor Centre, Rolls-Royce, Intel, Arm, Honeywell, MBDA and the UK Space Agency.
Industry support for the 2026 event reflects the breadth of the UK electronics ecosystem. Sponsors include Wireless Logic, UK Semiconductor Centre, Edge Impulse, CSA Catapult and Synopsys.
Sessions across the two-day programme will address some of the most pressing challenges facing the sector, including:
· Scaling semiconductor innovation
· AI-driven system design
· Photonics for defence and space
· Secure embedded computing
· Workforce development
· and the future of advanced manufacturing in the UK.
Microelectronics UK 2026 is aimed at engineers, developers, researchers, systems architects, technical leaders and students working across the electronics and advanced technology industries.
Paid “Access All Areas” tickets will also be available, including entry to the networking reception and event app matchmaking features.
