China's Greatest Fear

Arthur Hanson

Well-known member
China's greatest fear is to lose the automation race which will transcend not only manual labor, but the professions and even advanced cutting edge research. China is playing the long game and know right now they could lose. Whether they say it or not, they have no doubt free and open societies have an advantage of social and ecosystems that have generated the most progress throughout human history. This is why being cut off from advanced chips will drive their efforts to procure companies, people and hardware that makes winning the economic game by any means possible. Sadly, we have the weakest administration the US has had in years. This conflict is greater than any military war in the long term and will require people of wisdom, vision and intelligence that is lacking in both governments. Just like most progress is made in the private sector, it will be up to the private sector on both sides to step up and seek solutions for the politicians that so far have been unable to do so. AI/ML, advancing instrumentation and 3D printing along with a whole host of other technologies promise a very bright future for all. All conflict will do is destroy our future and our ability to use to adapt and deal with a damaged planet with over a billion people living in substandard conditions and these numbers going up. There are answers and solutions, but all sides will have to put politics aside, neutralize the real bad actors and move forward. It is time for integrity and cooperation to be advanced to deal with the challenges ahead. The technical problems we can solve, it's the political and social problems are what stand in the way and the tech sector has to step forward and learn how to deal with these obstacles. Any thoughts, comments or solutions sought and welcome on how to deal with the insanity that's the obstacle before us, for the politicians of all types are failing and need help.

Comments, solutions and additions sought on this critical issue
