As Memory Prices Soar, Will Phison's "Budget AI" Become the Laptop Standard?

Sky-high DRAM prices are reshaping the economics of AI—and Phison Electronics may be one of the biggest unexpected beneficiaries.

Long known as a NAND controller supplier, Phison is now pushing a very different vision: “budget AI” powered by Flash instead of expensive memory. Its AIdaptiv+ platform allows large AI models to run locally on standard laptops, dramatically cutting hardware costs.

For years, few paid attention.

Then Jensen Huang said something that changed everything.

Now, as memory costs spiral and AI demand surges, Phison’s approach is suddenly back in focus.

Could this be the moment when “budget AI” goes mainstream?
