AI to become the next major weapon/front in warfare.

It's only a matter of when, not if when AI will become a key weapon of war. In an increasingly complex digital/electronic world it's only a matter of time before the conflicts increase from the very minor incursions we are already starting to see evolve into major widespread conflicts and attacks. The conflict will go from modern control systems for the physical world to attacks on business and financial processes. It is already starting to become a factor in elections and will grow from minor actions to major conflicts in the next few years if not sooner. Any thoughts on how society can manage the massive and increasing power for the benefit of the whole rather than devolve into a weapon of massive social, financial and physical destruction. What organizations and antivirus companies do readers think will be on the front lines of dealing with these challenges? Any other thoughts or views sought.

"... devolve into a weapon of ... physical destruction"

The promise of AI, is to replace humans, in dangerous, uncomfortable, and tedious jobs. What better example of this is using AI/Robots to replace soldiers.

Wars, in the future, with AI, will cause much less death, misery, and destruction of infrastructure. The combatantents AI/Robots can go fight it out, and whoever loses can surrender, because they have no chance winning a human vs. AI/Robot battle.

Sure, it would be better if we didn’t have wars, but wishing for it doesn’t make it happen. What we can actually do is make war less horrible. Maybe what we need most, to prevent wars, is AI politicians and diplomats. Since our opponents are going to use AI, for warfare, we have no choice. Either we have better AI, or we lose.

And yes, it is a matter of “when, not if”. They got AI to beat the best human “Go” players by having the AI play against itself. I’m quite sure, right now, there are AI, in simulations, playing “air-to-air combat”, and other similar games. AI will certainly exceed the capabilities of human pilots, both physically and mentally.

Which of the "Big 3" , I will be kind and include Russia so Putin doesnt get upset , are going to attack the other?

I will go for zero , as althought the leadership in all these countries looks incredibly stupid , I dont think they are stupid enough to end the world.

However internal moves in a couple of the countries could inadvertantly end it for us all if there is power struggle and someone goes out in a blaze of glory.

China says they are going to take Taiwan, by force if necessary. They are preparing for war. Either we defend Taiwan, or the Chinese mainland owns TSMC (which is most of the world's semiconductor manufacturing). War between the US and China is certainly possible.

Also, China is tired of the US pushing them around. They are getting stronger, we are getting weaker. At some point (probably soon) they will think they are militarily stronger, at least in their region. This could certainly lead to a kinetic war. We're already having an economic, political, and technology war.

Is this.you Godfree?

What does "CCP tired of US pushing them around" even mean?

The CCP is prepared to end the world?

China could probably take Taiwan by force, but the price would be staggering even for China. The trade disruption alone would be crippling to not only the world economy, but China especially. Taiwan is a very intelligent country with many allies that are either afraid they would be next on the list, so it isn't China against Taiwan, but against South Korea, Japan, Viet Nam, Australia, New Zealand, the Philippines, USA, and many others that would take advantage of a preoccupied China. The trade sanctions would be enormous also. A Chinese invasion of Taiwan would be a loser for all, but especially China.
