I agree. Pat Gelsinger is buying a foundry "operation and management" expertise through the Tower acquisition. If they can successfully build enough value on IFS, at certain point Intel can spin off the entire manufacturing division to "unlock" shareholders' value.Pat really pledged his allegiance to Israel on this one. This leads me to believe that the Tower Semiconductor management will take over IFS which in my opinion would be great. Thoughts?
A little more info here from Pat about his intentions for Tower: https://www.calcalistech.com/ctechnews/article/hjejqjogcI agree. The more I think, the more I feel Intel and Pat Gelsinger's true intention is to spin off Intel's manufacturing division eventually. What he is doing now is to make IFS more attractive and more self-sufficient to compete.
Sorry but I disagree, Intel has a a terrible track record with acquisitions.
They need to focus on TD! 100% focus. Not acquisitions.
On the other hand, maybe that's what Pat is saying, Tower will focus on Foundry and there is a way to go forward with this without distractions. We'll see I guess.
