With AI/ML coming on strong and fast, both these enable automation to come on a scale few are imagining right now. AI/ML is the brains and robotics is the brawn. Both China and western world are entering a realm of economic combat where it isn't weapons but winning on the robotics and automation competition is key. No longer is automation limited to physical tasks, but also mental ones of all types. This is especially true of medical in the US that consumes twenty cents of every dollar while delivering subpar care compared to many other modern countries. Another big question is the automation of war that we are seeing advance every day with drones of all types and this is just the beginning. The big question is who will win or can these tremendous powers be used to foster widespread cooperation? Worldwide cooperation would make the most winners, but can our politics keep up with our technological advances? It's past time that all of us contribute to solutions rather than conflict, cooperation will always be more beneficial the economic or physical combat. I hope the US can become a leader in advancing itself and the world. Semiconductors of all types have the power to change everything, I just hope we have the wisdom to use it constructively rather than war and destruction. Cooperation worldwide could take us into a new age. Any thoughts or comments sought and appreciated. I feel the SemiWiki community should be among the leaders.
