Working with light in creative ways, researchers have figured out ways to increase the carrying capacity of already in place fiberoptic infrastructure. It would be nice if we could develop useful applications of many technologies to unlock and greatly improve capital efficiency of financial, human and physical resources. The opportunities this speed presents for the semi/nanotech industry are many and varied. This is what is going to be needed if we are to survive on this greatly over stressed ecosystem we have created.
