Opinions split over AI bubble after billions invested

(Reuters) — Companies announcing multi-billion-dollar investments in artificial intelligence have sparked debate over whether the sector is entering a bubble reminiscent of the dot-com boom. Investors are increasingly cautious, watching for signs that AI demand or returns might not justify the...

Stores Converted to Giant Vending Machines

Interesting, the self checkouts at local stories are being scaled back due to theft. Personally I prefer doing it myself but it should come with a price break since I am doing the work of two people (checkers and baggers). Instead they make me pay 10 cents for each bag I use. I bring my own bag...

THE SEMICONDUCTOR SURVIVAL BATTLE Part 1 of 5 Lip-Bu Tan (Intel) vs. C.C. Wei (TSMC)

Not all companies, just the ones who could not do what they signed up to do. TSMC got their money, yes?

    Trump on 60 Minutes

I just watched the whole thing. Wow. I had always said I would not vote for a president older than 65 and I stand by it. If you are a Captain for United Airlines you are retired on your 65th birthday. POTUS and all politicians for that matter should be the same, absolutely. NORAH O'DONNELL: The...

    Trump on 60 Minutes

In a new interview on 60 Minutes, President Donald Trump declared that China and other foreign nations would be barred from accessing Nvidia’s most advanced AI chips, such as those in the company’s flagship Blackwell series. Trump stated, “The most advanced, we will not let anybody have them...

ANALYST INSIGHT: Why Intel Foundry Matters More Than You Think

The lack of IFS clients was due to the PDK and Intel's lack of customer collaboration. Lip-Bu will not make this mistake. Lip-Bu knows how important collaborative PDKs are and has already fixed this process. The most recent 18A PDK is comparable to TSMC N2 and customers will come. A few already...

ANALYST INSIGHT: Why Intel Foundry Matters More Than You Think

An Intel Xeon 6+ server chip, code-named Clearwater Forest (Credit: Anshel Sag) There’s been no shortage of talk about Intel’s prospects as a company, with even more talk about the future of Intel Foundry. This is especially true after the official announcement of the Intel 18A process node...

I think Substrate is a $1 Billion Fraud: Part 1

Dylan may have a good team now but he was alone for the first few years and he was selling snake oil (my opinion). We worked with him a bit in 2021/2022 but his lack of experience showed through so we did not continue. The straw that broke the camels back per say was when he called TSMC a drug...

I think Substrate is a $1 Billion Fraud: Part 1

SemiAnalysis is an LLC registered to Dylan Patel, who also does not have academic or professional semiconductor experience so what exactly was Substrate paying him for as far back as 2022? This is pretty strong language from FCR. Someone may have an axe to grind here: - The founder is known...

Intel in talks to acquire AI chip startup SambaNova, Bloomberg News reports

I agree. Never bet against Lip-Bu. According to Grok SambaNova's current value is $2.1B with revenues of $75-165M. It will be interesting to so how this pans out. I still say it is about the team and putting the products through the Intel channel. Intel has a very strong sales channel.

Intel in talks to acquire AI chip startup SambaNova, Bloomberg News reports

Is SambaNova revenue above $100M yet? Has anybody heard? Must be nice to have a $5B valuation with $100M in revenue.

Did I understand this correctly, is Dylan Patel of Semianalysis part of the fraud? I can't wait until part II.

I think Substrate is a $1 Billion Fraud: Part 1

Part 1 of an investigation into Substrate, a semiconductor firm that has garnered a lot of attention in recent weeks. Fox Chapel Research (Note: this entire post is my opinion) Oct 30, 2025 “Substrate” has been in the news for, allegedly, coming up with a way to make computer chips for much...

Intel in talks to acquire AI chip startup SambaNova, Bloomberg News reports

My bet would be IFS. Intel has to fill those fabs. It will be interesting to see how many of Walden Ventures chip company investments move to IFS.

Intel in talks to acquire AI chip startup SambaNova, Bloomberg News reports

True. I have only been involved with < $100M deals. Lip-BU is smart and very M&A experienced, I'm sure he has this all ironed out. Seriously, never bet against the man.
