It will certainly be a disaster in my opinion. 2nm was just an arbitrary goal they set out for without a business case or any realistic way to get there. The whole idea of a boutique leading edge fab is insane in its self. The whole point is SCALE to make the economics work in a fab, especially...
Great move imo. C.C is suited for the aggressiveness of this moment that Mark wasn’t to extend the advantage TSMC enjoys at this time. He strikes me as ruthless which I like. Ruthless and brutally competent.
If the democrats ran an empty suit they'd win in a landslide. At least Biden has competent advisors while trump is surrounded by equally braindead sycophants
Trump and musk do not act in the nations interest. Both men have always been solely about themselves at every turn. Musk sucks up to the CCP because of Teslas exposure to the Chinese market. I have no doubt both will make decisions only in their own self interest at the expense of all others...
Trump in unbelievably stupid and so are his voters. At this point Trump and his cronies effectively operate as a russian 5th column in this country. Everything these idiots suggest would directly benefit Russia or the nations enemies.
Last three gens of graviton have been on TSMC so I suspect this is on some TSMC N5 derivative. I think it’s kind of a wash for foundries and a gain for Amazon and a loss for amd, Intel etc
I hope like CC has indicated TSMC starts to price to capture more value. Within reason of course, I know they say they price strategically but I can’t help but feel like they should be doing even better considering the position they are in. Will be interesting what they say on the Q&A when...
Well deserved. Just my opinion, but I believe TSMC has a brighter future then nvidia even, considering its strategic position. There are conceivable scenario's where nvidia could lose its software/mindshare/marketshare. I personally cant see a scenario short of WW3 where TSMC is not eventually...
TSMC showed 0% automotive growth in Q1. So makes sense those further down the value chain would be struggling. I wonder if this is a good read through for global foundries and NXP.
