Essentially my thoughts. They are taking the logical steps for a fruitless endeavour basically. I don’t see any scenario where Rapidus is a remotely significant manufacturer of leading logic. It’s just a very strange initiative in all respects for me.
These articles are so garbage. The 26% revenue number takes into account every part that comes into China including for the means of assembly of laptops, desktops etc. I’m an Intel skeptic but man these articles almost seem intentionally misleading.
I guess it works but it seems like an exceedingly inefficient and uneconomical way of going about things. Hard to believe they could ever turn a profit that way but I guess the CCP will bankroll them
As to the last part. That would be the anti Pat Gelsinger lol. Everything about the way he talks about competitors and customers just rubs me the wrong way. So much confidence for a company that really hasn’t show much of any results
Hey Dan why do you think nvidia went to N4P for Blackwell instead of N3 or N3E? Is it so they can keep an upgrade path so they can have another easy leap in performance when they move down to N3P or something?

This was my same reaction. It made no sense. Apple still craters to the center of the earth in a Taiwan invasion scenario as does the rest of the stock market because WW3 is likely on. And in that case why are you even trying to risk manage your portfolio when WW3 is on?
