War is the last refuge of the incompetent

A Chinese assault on Taiwan would be a disaster for all sides and could easily lead to an unthinkable nuclear way as a product of misjudgment. War would be a loser for all, China for their trade for shipping would collapse as would finance. The resources spent on even a short, small war would be substantial finance, trade, cooperation combined with worldwide political and commercial upheaval. All parties should realize how the financial and stock markets worldwide would react. War is the last refuge of the incompetent and rarely achieves good results as the US learned in Viet Nam and Afghanistan, no real heroes, just massive damage and many innocent civilians and especially children killed and maimed. War is truly the last refuge of the incompetent, I hope the world leaders realize the value of peace dividends, which can be staggering. I hope industry and finance leaders can educate our leaders before it's too late. Modern communications and tech for talk, finance and commerce are true gifts to be valued. Any thoughts, additions sought and welcome, it's time for the leaders in tech to educate our politicians on all sides.

disaster for all sides
Not all. If it is expedient for Xi politically, he will go for it. Political expediency is not measured in economic output.

If torching of mainland economy will lead to political benefit for Xi, it's a win in his eyes.

Party tops don't care much about the economy, they never ever held a dayjob in their life, and they can ALWAYS rely on the printing press being in their exclusive use, even if it will be raining fire and brimstone outside.

You should first dive into the prospect of a second American civil war. The Democrats and Republicans are on the brink of a face-off. Trump has been assassinated twice. What happens if those Antifa members seek a Russia-style revolution? I think this poses a more immediate threat.
