Will the Apple/TSM/Nvidia alliance allow both Apple, Nvidia and TSM to dominate the virtual reality headset market? Will TSM become the dominant player in VR chips as TSM has dominated other areas or will they just service the high end? With a combined market cap of excess of two and a half trillion dollars, these three companies are in a position to dominate the AI/ML ecosystem both on the consumer and commercial side. AI/ML will be the greatest advance in the history of mankind and these three companies are set to dominate it on every level from the device to the data center and everything in between. The computer, phone, goggles and tablet will become the interface devices to what will become the largest ecosystem in world in dollar terms involving far more money than even the world wide communications system that will become a significant part of this ecosystem. 5G will be part of the foundation of this AI/ML ecosystem that is going to impact literally everything. This ecosystem will change everything, even wars which sadly will be fought in this realm. I hope cooler heads will prevail in how this emerging greatest tool in the history of man is managed to improve our world and not damage it.

Absolutely. VR, AI, anything that requires speed and low power will favor TSMC. Apple is fully on TSMC so the success or failure will be shared. Personally I'm not sold on VR but maybe Apple can convince me.

Apple does not sell their chips (or any non-finished consumer level products really) to other companies, so, they might be dominating this market in terms of performance but they are not the actors on this chip market so other players should be active (unless the market does not pan out at all which has been the case so far).
