Taiwan, with it's vast technical power in semis, with TSM at its core is key to almost literaly to almost all the key industries and commerce of the world. Now that chips are in everything in almost every sector from communications, transport, equipment, manufacturing and AI/ML going into everything, loosing full access to Taiwan even partially could be an economic disaster for everyone. Yes, there are several powers that could disrupt the Taiwanese supply chain and I hope they have the wisdom to see they could create the world's most massive loose, loose propositiion for everyone. A devestated world economy would create only loosers, it would be just a matter of degree. As the world is more interconnected than ever before, fianancialy, production and market wise, we must learn to live together on this increasingly crowded planet. The massive interconnection in everything brought on by advances in transportation, finances, communications, business structures and practices has made the world more one than ever and it's only accelerating with the "Great Acceleration" that I have been writing about for many years. All this will make any conflict more costly, unpredictable and dangerous than every before. Taiwan has literally become the "Folcrum of the World" and dealings around it must be treated with wisdom and care, otherwise all will suffer. Disrupting Taiwan will be like opening the ultimate Pandoras Box. It's time to treat this issue with care and for all sides to practice wisdom and patience that are now needed more than ever in this increasingly interconnected world that is only becoming more so every day by the technology revoltion that is only still in its early days and is compounding, the most powerful force in the world, at an ever increasing rate. If we fail this test, the suffering and damage to our future will be broad, deep and long lasting. May wisdom prevail.
