Semis Speeding Economic/Social Change

Semis of all types are speeding economic change due to the technologies ever compressing timelines between dramatic changes and nothing demonstrates this more than the changes in everything the pandemic has brought. Remote working alone has brought dramatic changes and has made the world a much smaller and diverse place. All of this has led to a process of compounding that is dramatically shrinking timelines and accelerating progress in just about everything at an ever-accelerating rate that is rendering everything from social orders to equipment obsolete in ever compressing more progress that is compounding upon itself. Taking advantage of this new paradigm is critical for individuals and organizations that don't will be left quickly behind with a rapid decline in value. The time to extract value from equipment or knowledge is rapidly compressing and should be at the forefront of any planning. When applying resources to any task, figuring the payback and return time is ever more critical in the effectiveness or an individual or an organization.

Infrastructure is but one area where large, expensive mistakes are about to be made, for technology can vastly increase the utilization rate, making much of the so-called investment worthless. The same is true in medical and especially diagnostics that take most of a doctor's time. It is already being seen in many areas of medical AI/ML systems that are superior and getting even better, especially in diagnostic imaging. This will also be true of highways, roads, and parking lots where not only far less trips will be made, but advanced systems of many types will greatly improve utilization. AI/ML is changing everything and that rate of change is only accelerating and now has to be part of any planning in just about everything we touch an endeavor we or an organization engages in. Highly automated education and training in a virtual world are about to upset traditional systems on a scale few have imagined. Semis of all types, scale, size, and implementation is leading to a "Great Acceleration" that will leave those that don't take advantage of it farther behind at such rate organizations of all types will be left farther and farther behind until they are literally obsolete.
