Warren Buffet, with his five billion dollar investment in the semi sector leader has fully acknowledged the massive changes that are still yet to come. The automation of everything from robotics in increasing penetration of physical labor to doing autonomous research at the cutting edge. In autos they contain an average of 450 dollars of semis and this is set to go to 700 dollars by 2026. If this true of cars, one can only imagine how much impact the semi world will have on everything else. This in now true is just about everything we touch, from houses to work to entertainment systems. Drones of all types (wheeled, can do search and rescue, monitoring, inspection and mapping at a small fraction of other methods and even handle the data and interpret it. TSM with the foundry model has changed the whole semi world with the foundry model, which offers unmatched efficiencies for their customers by spreading the cost of using semis in development and production ecosystems that unmatched and still increasing the spread between them and any competitor. I feel Intel can succeed, but they will have to find markets and ecosystems where TSM is not playing. If Intel is to succeed, strategy will as important or even more important than the technologies themselves.
