Sapphire Rapids is a flop. It seems clear now.

Geekbench is a fairly terrible benchmark. It doesn't scale well with cores, and definitely doesn't simulate the kinds of workloads that these classes of CPUs are marketed at.

11900K for reference also scores ~ 40-45K on Geekbench 4. I can't imagine Intel releasing a 40 core server chip on 10nm that wouldn't outperform their own 8 core on 14nm..
