This new electrolyte is promising, but might not be the answer. The fact that new technologies are literally coming out at a rapid clip is vastly increasing the rate at which batteries improving. While there are many failures, just like many other semi technologies, the improvements in all parts of battery technologies are starting to add up and bring costs down and performance up. Just like the improvements in semis have made them part of almost every system we touch, the improvements in batteries have already increased their uses dramatically and this is still just in the early stages. Semis and batteries go together in many areas and will drive new uses for each other at an ever-increasing rate that is still accelerating.
