Hello, I'm seeing a lot of tweets about the Sony PlayStation 5 Pro. The console's $700 price point has sparked controversy, especially given its outdated AMD Zen 2 architecture(?). The only notable upgrade seems to be the GPU.
Many are citing Digital Foundry's analysis. Is Digital Foundry a trustworthy source?
They’re the preeminent experts in video game engine and graphics analysis, including image quality and realtime rendering techniques. They also include hardware analyses such as what you’re asking.
So in that space I would say yes they’re highly regarded and are at the top of the craft.
+1 they’re highly regarded and have done very thorough performance analyses of game engines, CPUs, and GPUs for years. Digital Foundry is the video version of Eurogamer.net.
The $700 price point is pretty high but I think it’s a test for market acceptance.
