[h=1]Intel shakes up manufacturing group amid production delays[/h]
The key take aways are that:

  • Sohail Ahmed SVP and GM of TMG is "retiring"
  • TMG is being split into three groups:
  • Technology Development - Led by Mike Mayberry
  • Manufacturing and Operations - Led by Ann Kelleher
  • Supply Chain - Led by Randhir Thakur
  • Mike Mayberry was the head of Intel Labs, Rich Uhlig will be acting as interim manager
  • All these groups report to Murthy Renduchintala
  • Murthy reiterated 10nm products on shelf for holiday 2019

They seem to not to be able to get it done.

Seem like a bunch of engineers with nice degrees and great gpas but aren't really engineers.

Intel lacks difference makers. Maybe they're losing guys to software or intel alienates them, I don't know.

It's sink or swim and I am starting to wonder if intel is about to sink.

The guy who never took a day of vacation or his 2 month sabbaticals "retired". There would need to be a lot more change before a significant culture change would be effected.

The shit has hit the fan. It took awhile for Intel to notice.
